  • Main aim of cohort
    - To elucidate the role of asthma on lungfunction - To explain the role of bronchial reactivity on lungfunction - To describe the development of asthma and allergies through childhood - To calculate the predictive value of gene markers, interleukins in umbilical cord blood and bronchial hyperactivity for the development of asthma and allergies - To estimate the impact of health and social aspects for the development of asthma and allergies - To evaluate how asthma affects growth in children

    Enrollment criteria, please specify
    - Mother has an asthma diagnosis which have required daily treatment after the age of 7 for at least 3 years. - Must recide in Zealand - Positively interested participating in COPSAC

    Exclusion criteria, please specify
    - Failure to show up at this first visit - Severe congenital anomaly - Gestational age <36 weeks - Mechanical ventilation or lower respiratory tract infection prior to enrollment.
